Wedding Ceremony before enshrined Okami

Wedding Ceremony is simple and elegant and the profound life experience for the wedding couple and their immediate families. Kannagara Chikyu Jinja is the place for Shinzen Kekkon Shiki— (which can also be conducted as renewal of vows and re-dedication of married couple) — we would like to welcome you and pray for your family happiness and safety and lasting loving relationship.

Kannagara Chikyu Jinja has available the traditional Japanese Wedding kimono rental & dressing service.

*Hatsuhoryo/ceremony donation min.$1,000.

Hatsuhoryo is by tax deductible donation.

Photography- $400

*shrine photographer takes pictures before/during/after ceremony inside shrine.
* Photographer will send you data by email within a week.


Kimono rental & dressing service

To wear kimono is inside of shrine only. Thank you for your understanding.

Uchikake $600

Traditionally Japanese Kimono is only one size, however we would like more people who may have different body shape,size or situation to be able to enjoy the life experience of Kimono wedding before enshrined Kami . we developed some alternative methods for kimono wearing/dressing to be more inclusive.

Haori & Hakama $500

We do not provide hair & makeup service, however we prepare some beautiful hair accessories you can choose from and use.


Flow of wedding ceremony

  1. Sanshin/chakuza – Procession
  2. Syubatu – Purification of food offering, things to be used during the wedding, groom and bride , and people in attendance.
  3. Saisyu Ippai – One deep formal bow by all attending to open the ceremony
  4. Norito soujou – The priest presents a Shinto prayer expressing the meaning of the ceremony
  5. San San Kudo- The couple sips three times three sips of Omiki/purified sake.
  6. Chikai no Kotoba – The groom and bride exchange their vows in front of the enshrined Kami.
  7. Yubiwa Koukan – Exchange of rings.
  8. Tamagushi Hairei- Presentaion of the sacred evergreen branch to Kami.
  9. Saisyu Ippai- One deep formal bow by all attending to close the ceremony
  10. Taisyutu - Exit procession
  11. Naorae – The guests enjoy the purified sake.
  12. Then, Please enjoy photo session.
